Americans' approval of Israel's military action in Gaza has fallen to a new low, along with the worst opinions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to date.
  • Independents (25%) express higher approval than Democrats (8%), but both groups currently register their lowest readings to date.

  • In contrast, 71% of Republicans say they approve of Israel’s action in Gaza, up from 66% in September.

  • Two-thirds of Republicans, 67%, have a favorable opinion of Prime Minister Netanyahu, compared with 19% of independents and 9% of Democrats

    And this is without unrestricted access of international journalism to Gaza. If western cameras get in, there would be another step change in these numbers, as there’s more room to fall with independents and Ds.

    E: It’s interesting they haven’t asked about views towards Israel. I suspect those numbers might be just as bad.
