A right-wing shitbag pretending to be the good guy who is now circling the drain is indeed a good methaphor for the US.

Should have used a picture from WCW when he was hollywood hogan as the after photo. Where he’s just spray painting NWO on Miss Elizabeths back.

Because thats what modern day America is trying to do. Establish a new world order.

Or you could have went a different route, and made the before picture hogan smiling with trump back in 1990 at wrestlemania. And then had the after photo be hogan posing with trump in modern day.

Isn’t that wild? How nothing has really changed? The players are still the same. The issues are still the same. Money. Greed. Power. Control. Racism. It’s all the same.

That’s why I’ll never understand why people say “I wonder what George Carlin would say about things now…”

SAME SHIT HE SAID 30 FUCKING YEARS AGO BECAUSE NOTHINGS CHANGED, ASSHOLES!!! He already saw all this shit. He’s heard this song and dance, and made material about the core concept decades ago. The only thing different is now the volume is turned up, and everybody is saying the quiet part out loud.

everybody is saying the quiet part out loud

But therein lies the difference. And it’s not just saying the quiet part out loud, it’s doing the quiet part out loud. Sure, it’s never been great, but 30 years ago the president wasn’t a cult leader openly trafficking people to offshore torture camps and proudly disobeying court orders while getting cheered on by his followers.

Someone tell this guy about Guantanamo, you know that thing a certain president from years ago was definitely going to close.
Or the many black sites serving the same purpose.
For the rest of the world it makes zero difference what president regime changes or bombs their country.
The imperialist bullying hegemon policy is bipartisan and eternal.
Same as supporting the MIC, banks, multinationals, oligarchs and the genocider state.
That never bothered Americans but now they’re mad bcs they are getting a taste of what they do to the rest of the world.

Totally. It was the greatest country I could think of in the 90s but now it feels much like a low quality, low opportunity, no future hellhole 😢

I felt like things were improving in the ‘90s heading into the 2000s. Let’s face it, things are never perfect, so this constant reminder that even though things were improving there was all this other shit that was still wrong gets kinda old. Overall, things did seem to be calming down after the Gulf War 1, 80’s interest rates, S&L scandals, etc. and you could still reasonably follow the “school to college to get a good job” path. Then 9/11 happened and it went downhill quickly.

I mean there were major race riots in the 90s.

I think it’s more like there were places in the US where it was fine for some people, and those bubbles are getting cracked by the constant Trump bullshit.

Maybe between the 40s and the 60s the US was the best place to be comparatively, but that was mostly because we managed to burn and bomb literally everything else.

And massively profit from WW2 loans and rebuilding while their competition Japan and Europe got destroyed and reduced to vasals.

The 50s and 60s was a peak time for middle class white men in the US.

Yeah it’s the bubbles we all live in. When I was a kid in the 80s everything felt great. Skateboarding was big, bmx. Years later I realized a field 2 miles from my house was s dumping ground for a serial killer at that time. The US was a fucking shit hole then… and all decades before that. It’s still a shithole but I feel like its peak was 2015. Gay marriage had just been legalized. Crime at a relative low. Previous shittyness getting exposed at a high rate. Trump was nearly a forgotten figure.
