What I mean is, is there any virtual pet device or app where the pet actually represents you, the user, and in it you report if you have eaten, showered, exercised, how you’re feeling, etc, and that is reflected in the pet/avatar? Could be a helpful thing for people with depression or any problem that makes them have difficulty for self care.

Finch is pretty close. Free as well. It’s intended to help with self care and mental wellness, could be a good fit for you.

I got a smartwatch recently and after describing using/wearing it my sister said “you turned yourself into a tamagotchi”. Might not have an avatar, but it’s fairly gamified.

Kind of. My friend uses Finch. Basically it’s your pet but it’s about writing down your thoughts and emotions. Kind of like your regular mindfulness app.

Someone else mentioned Habitica already, there are a few out there. I think they usually call it gamification. The only one I tried and was able to commit to was Walkscape (specifically gamifying getting out), although I’ve been slacking due to nasty winter weather.

When I was broke and I was living with a roommate I bought a Humble Bundle with Sims 2 included. Played it for a while and eventually started a new save creating my roommate and myself in a small house the size of our apartment.

A couple hours in and the virtual two of us were sitting on a couch while virtual me played a video game. This was happening while my roommate and I were sitting on a couch and he was watching myself play the Sims (pc hooked up to television) watching the virtual us do the same thing.

The same thought hit us both at the same time. It got too existential for us at that point and I had to stop playing. I never picked the Sims up after that.

I was slightly concerned reading the title 😭

I’ve not found any that really work for me as of yet so want to piggy back off this post, if you find something please notify me!

Maybe n Roblox. I haven’t bothered trying the games, but I know Adopt Me started as something like that.
