Summary

Minnesota Governor and former VP candidate Tim Walz is launching a town hall tour in Republican-held districts where representatives have stopped holding public events.

Starting in Iowa and Nebraska, he plans stops in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio. Walz says he wants to amplify voter concerns about the Trump administration and Republican policies.

He denies using the tour to prepare for a national run, instead framing it as a way to keep Democrats engaged post-election.

His team has received hundreds of invitations from local leaders.

No worries. I guess my point is that they’re overall such a small percent of the voting bloc. And what percentage of them could he sway? I’d be willing to bet not many at this point in time. Harris didn’t lose because Republicans didn’t vote for her, she lost because everyone else didn’t vote for her.

There’s more of them that are willing to sway then you might think, as a lot of progressive policy ideas poll well with the majority of the population, it’s just that they buy into the bullshit they hear in media and such.

Personally, I don’t need Bernie and Tim to explain their position to me, I know and agree on their positions already in a majority of cases, the reason a lot of dems didn’t show up for Harris is because her policies were essentially continue the status quo which is not what Americans, we want large scale change, Trump is a large scale change president, just not in the way the majority of republicans think/actually wanted.

Barring the owner class, who are getting exactly what they wanted, but that is a small portion of republicans.

Edit: There’s also the aspect of the perception of just “being a person you could chill with” that mainstream dems have been notoriously bad about. Meanwhile trump and co go on joe rogan and all the other brocasts and come off looking “normal.”

Edit2: I was actually really excited For Walz when he was initially picked, and he was doing well but at a point it seems like a muzzle was thrown on him.
