    Usually distros will offer a single version on their repo, but Blender is best used with multiple (portable) versions. Of course if you’re just starting out, simply pick the latest version (5.2).
    I had to stay on 3.6LTS for two years for film production, in parallel I did use more recent versions for various side projects.
    You can also have different user settings for each version so I really advise using the good ol tarball.
