Yeah they’re literal Russians. Not just some propaganda through a few proxies and some random tank posting but directly pro-Russian, anti-Ukrainian authoritarian accounts which post Russian propaganda and get really fucking sensitive when you ask them “are you pro-Russian?”
It’s the one question they refuse to lie about, because they know their arbitrary leadership could use anything like that as proof to have them killed. Unlikely? Very. Are they still deathly afraid, so much so they can’t answer a simple yes or no question, even when they spout straight lies about themselves? Yes, they are.
I could ping two here, but I won’t, since they blame me for “stalking” them for calling them out, and then abuse mod status. Davel and AntiOutsideAktion on lemmy.ml are both accounts like that.
Not all MLs are Russians. I’d be surprised if they make up even a small percentage of Lemmy MLs.
I don’t believe anyone is getting killed because of a Lemmy comment. I doubt any Russians are paid to post here when they could hit a massively larger audience on a mainstream site.

I honestly think “campist” attitudes are what causes all the Russia/China support in MLs. Even if you aren’t campist, you’re still affected by the influence of your ML peers who are campist.
