I mean at this point that’s my first thought when I think organized religion, so yeah, not shocking. Expected, even.

And the Catholic church will remain. There are still enough poor and uneducated nations to prey on in the world. When there are none left they will move exclusively to their private hedge fund business.

And they wont spend any time in prison. The only unknown is why. Why are they not in prison, all of them including those that knew and did nothing. This is an utter failure of justice around the world. The church should disappear into a mountain of debt forced to sell all its assets and be removed from society.

No, the church will be allowed to deal with it internally. What means they will probably transfer the abusers as punishment to a new place. Where they keep the abuse allegations under wraps (because its bad publicity) so the abuser has another chance in a new environment of unsuspecting parishioners to abuse.

The tragic and devastating thing is, that I just can’t find this surprising anymore.
Does anyone really still expect other news from the christian church in general and the Catholic church especially?

Is “sexual abuse in church” still “news”?
