The House voted to force the Justice Department to release files on the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, an effort that overcame opposition from President Donald Trump.
I’m feeling more and more that they will release something that scrubs any damage to the GOP, and certainly zero chance they release anything that damages Trump. If there is a fix in - scrubbed names or false “complete” files - that would explain why GOP now feels they can vote for it, and why Trump gave them permission by flip-flopping to support the release.
After these votes the pressure is on him in a way he has yet experienced. I don’t know if I can think of another issue in which almost all Republican legislators opposed him.
Maybe but he will brand any Republican who is against him as, ironically, a traitor.
Because that’s who he wants on his team, people loyal to him, regardless of affiliation. But Republicans are easier to dupe so they mostly fell in line.
They almost unanimously voted to release the files. Unanimous votes in the House are not frequent. On this issue at least, he doesn’t have any loyalists in Congress.
My guy, how blind are you? If the Republicans all voted to release it then they are in on the cover up. They were told to vote yes because they won’t release anything incriminating. There’s no fucking opposition.
Don’t be a dumbass and pay attention to the news. They flipped because they could no longer stop it with Grijalva finally seated. Trump begged Boebert to vote against and she didn’t. All part of the plan?
There’s nothing Trump can do. His veto would be overridden. He either does nothing and in 10 days it goes through or he acts like he never cared in the first place, no matter how ridiculous that is.
He is not going to sign this, lol.
If we know anything about Trump by this point, is that he’ll say things and do the opposite. He’s not signing this, guys.

But that doesn’t mean he’s not going to shoot this down himself should it go on his desk.
