During the Trump administration, the Environmental Protection Agency canceled a $7 billion program aimed at making solar power accessible to low-income households.
More than 20 states sued the Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday, challenging the agency’s decision to cancel a $7 billion program that aimed to make solar power accessible to low-income households.
The program, called “Solar For All,” was established in 2022 under the Inflation Reduction Act and had appropriated grants to deploy rooftop and community solar projects. It was part of the Biden administration’s push to reduce carbon pollution and was supposed to make solar power more accessible to nearly a million additional U.S. households.
But in August, the EPA announced that the program had been canceled and withdrew about 90% of grant funds from the accounts in which states had received the awards, according to the lawsuit.

Good. Trump and his administration deserve to be litigated into the dirt.
Roy Cohn the clown show.
Agreed, but nothing will happen.
guess who gets to pay the legal bills.
The dumbasses that think that solar is “woke” are just insufferable. Same goes for the asshats that think things like windmills are just for effete latte-sipping liberals. Did they think the windmills that farmers have been using for quite some time were put up there by “soy boys”?
Both of these things can help add to our energy independence. Both of these things add to us being more resilient in our infrastructure. You’d think nearly everyone could see that, from the left all the way to the most hard-core right wing doomsday prepper types…but in this day and age, the Confederate Party has to weaponize and politicize everything. No matter how much of a self-own it is.
Regardless, programs established by Congress can’t just be declared cancelled by the executive branch
