A Pakistan-born US army veteran, and husband of a former Washington congressional candidate, was taken into ICE detention during a citizenship interview on Thursday at the United States Citizen and Immigration Services office in Tukwila, Washington, according to the local chapter of CAIR, a national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization.
They never once said service guarantees citizenship.

You’re right, it doesn’t actually. I don’t disagree with that. But I have heard recruiters lying to children with some hideous lies that heavily imply that it’s baaaaasically a guarantee etc.
Not gonna disagree with that.
I feel like it’s a your mileage my vary type of situation, as my recruiter didn’t lie to me.
