Might be an empty promise but the Taliban showing willingness to ally with Shia Iran is a pretty big gesture. There used to be a lot of Shia-Sunni infighting in the region.

That’s true but most of the hammer is coming down on Palestine content right now. Netanyahu publicly said the goal of the TikTok purchase was to censor for Israel and they’re pulling out all the stops. ICE content isn’t nearly as censored as Palestine content atm
It’s an app developed by a Palestinian which got popular because of recent increasing censorship on TikTok and Instagram against Palestine.
The devs confirmed it was delisted. Not sure what its current status is. Seeing mixed messages online so it might be regional delisting or it might have been restored.

1·4 days agoI think it’s great that it now sends people to an instance. One other recommendation is to not send people to the signup page but simply to the home page of the instance. For example a redirect goes to to thelemmy.club but it states that anyone who wants to join that server needs to wait for acceptance after creating an account. This is a major turnoff for new users
Instead the redirect going to the home page https://thelemmy.club/ would be much better as people can instantly see Lemmy and what Lemmy actually is.

Yeah it’s all very weird. And every media including Aljazeera etc just treat it like it’s normal because the word ISIS is mentioned and somehow that justified locking up children since birth without trail
US human rights abuses are immeasurable. The Al Hol concentration camp is one of the weirdest recent ones where they have imprisoned children since birth for being a suspected ISIS relative without trial.

Each instance can decide whether to enforce any age restriction law, and possibly get banned in whatever country if they don’t apply by it. Seeing how most websites wipe their butt with GDPR however it likely means the age-verification will only be enforced hard on the big social media networks like Facebook where mass tracking happens.
