It’s not theirs to take over. There was barely any communication about this, they asked for admins a couple of times then posted about shutting down. They didn’t offer for someone else to host it.

Mine ended on the 5th, i didn’t renew it. It’s the first time since i got it that I didn’t but everything’s chinese rebranded shit there now and the shows are better if i torrent them.

It’s smart, Lots of people joined Lemm.ee and now 5500 active users need to find a new instance or stop using lemmy (some certainly will just leave)
