I mean I’m doing it for my own self-benefit too lol, but it helps others who discover to the artist after me! But damn does it take a lot of time 😅

I used to collect CDs and adding them to Discogs was hell. Hated the work, but it was fun diving into obscure releases. Now I buy most of my music on Bandcamp and adding it to Musicbrainz is a breeze, especially with the website plugins.

What. Does Musicbrainz have plugins to make importing/adding a release from Bandcamp easier? If so I would gladly appreciate a link to said plugins. Or are you talking about musicbrainz picard to make tagging your downloaded music easier? I do love and frequently use Picard for my library.

Little late, but musicbrainz is an organization that runs an open-sourced, crowd-sourced, music database!

They develop a tool called Musicbrainz Picard that you can use to automatically tag your music and keep your music library organized.

I also use their scrobbling/music history tool called Listenbrainz to replace my dependence on YT music history. Listenbrainz will pull from the Musicbrainz’s database to find the song info. You can get your yearly “wraped/rewind/review” but also weekly and monthly stats, fav genres, fav artists by country, etc.
