The real epiphany comes when you realize working 9-5 was 8 hours. Meaning the lunch break was included. Just another hit to the working class. What a way to make a living.

9-5 hasn’t been standard in the US in decades. It’s all 8-5 or 9-6 now.

I’m so happy I work for a normal company that lets me eat at my desk and just work 9-5.

Tbh, I come and go when I want as long as I get the work done. My official hours are 9 to 5. As in, if someone calls me, those are my hours.

Now, my LAST job, on the other hand. Same exact industry and field, but my boss was an asshole. I took the train in to work, so I had a scheduled start and end time via my train. He told me that I must take an hour lunch because it’s the law. Who the fuck even cares??? Alas, since I was on train time, instead of leaving at 4:50 to catch the train, I had to stay until closer to 5:30. Except the trains left hourly. So I basically wasted a half hour every day. And I did. I made sure to do no work during that half hour I was sitting there playing with myself.

If you wanna talk about dystopia lmao

Bold to assume there’ll still be jobs and not just fighting over gig work in the unemployment prisons.

My main instinct is to groan when I hear that slang. Then I remember back in the 90s we had “All that and a bag of chips”.

So obviously my generation holds no higher ground when it comes to slang.

The 80s are the last time slang was done right. Lets bring back “radical” and “rightous” and “right on”.

Wait, is the secret to good slang starting with the letter R?
