Local officials say that if he was up to them, they would oppose new apartments

Apparently, parking spots are a higher priority than giving human beings a roof over their heads.

One of the turning points in my political thinking was realizing that the quickest way to get a car towed is to sleep in it.

It is absolutely fucked up that we think nothing of making sure everyone has a place to put their car on public property, but the instant you need to live in the car, it’s suddenly a problem.

Whenever I hear a conversation about parking, when we’re talking about expanding affordability, I immediately recognize it as a bad faith argument. NIMBYs are the biggest ladder-pullers in the world.

I’m so confused as well, we’re talking about a country with endlessly sprawing sub-urbs. Just change a bit of zoning there; so many single-famlily homes that could easily be converted into other types of homes.

Well this is specifically silly San Diego suburb people, not California in general.
