I love this painting, even though it’s grim, that emotion is insane.
The emotion is so fucking palpable, an evil person accidently killing their son and being filled with regret… The horror on that face is just so easy to read.

I was thinking the same thing! Those expressions are so real and intense… I rarely see a painting that hits home like this one does.
