Why would turning off the AC help? Just drop it into 3rd and whizz past them
Assuming this is a petrol/diesel engine the AC is being powered by motor. You turn it off and you get more power going to the wheels (not much tho).

I’ve known too many people who didn’t know the AC was parasitic to the engine’s power. They be blasting AC at full and driving up a steep engine and I hear their engine going “ahhhhhhhhh god please kill me”
