There was a time when the internet was a beautiful, lawless place. Full of new experiences and incredible wonders. Music, people, software, movies, everything seemed to be at hand, and we felt almost unstoppable.
I feel bad for new generations that will never get to savor something similar…
That all exists still, the problem is everyone spends all of their time on like two or three social medias that are the worst the internet has to offer.
Oh yeah? Try to download something without having to pass through 3 captchas and trying to find the correct button. Now there are sites with pay walls, YouTube can’t be watched without ad blockers, Megaupload got fucked and being Mega is a pain in the ass to download a file, Taringa died without dignity, Popcorn Time is almost impossible to download correctly, Rapidgator gone, microtransactions everywhere, all on war against digital copies, and to find a decent site to download music is a real accomplishment in itself. So where does it all exist still? And mind you, this is the only social media I have…

I literally download shows/movies every week. There are no captchas or finding the correct button. Its incredibly easy to do and the software we have for it is great and easy to use and setup. I literally search for my show see a list of options and click download then watch on my TV. No ads or pay walls. Go checkout the arr stack its free open source software and easy to use.
The internet is vast and there are still great options for us.
Dude, I’m not saying they doesn’t exist. I keep downloading anything y want/need. I’m saying it’s become a real pain in the ass to do so sometimes. Shit, even having a working Revanced is troublesome and you have to keep changing a apps via manager.
And don’t get me started with APK’s! Now every site wants you to download their shitty app that doesn’t work for shit!

Well I was born in 2009 and iirc I only started using the internet in I think c 2012-2015 lol so it wd hav2b right b4 the demonetization era of yt xD :P
The fediverse feels a little bit like the old internet. But yeah, it was special back then.
