What I found much more interesting than the new subscription, was all their weird obsessive behaviours the author described, which seem to almost normalized in her mind.

Like memorizing all the followers of your ex and checking regularly if they have new ones, to see if they have a new relationship. Or checking, if your exes look at your stories.

I am very glad, I am not involved with social media (and most of my friends as well), because it seems to exadurate your worst impulses in a way, that I would have never thought could be normalized in our society.

I know someone that’s on Instagram a lot. You can literally see her change as the fads change. Including becoming poly when that was going around. To a point where she had become just absolutely insufferable with this shit because she’s reinventing herself every quarter and we’re all supposed to pretend this new normal has always been.

It’s like it’s giving her multiple personality disorder. I don’t even know who she is anymore. I don’t know if she knows who she is.

I hope more people come to make more interesting original content on Loops. Now, it’s a lot of political stuff. I want to see more art and comedic content.

Kind of sad but that’s really the challange of getting the fediverse going. Problem is creative creators just want to get their stuff out to as many people as possible. It’s the same stupid catch 22 problem that we had with windows and gaming and software before proton (IE it’s hard to build up consumer/user bases without the creators, and hard to convince creators to upload for a smaller userbase).
