    “Triples that of 650 million?”. What kind of measurement is that? Just say “Almost 2 billion”. Also, which 2 billion? There’s a HUGE difference in electricity usage depending on the answer.

      No doubt that’s why they used such a goofy metric. It’s triple that of a selected 650 million.

      Infuriating that they’d use such a uselessly vague and annoyingly unverifiable metric for the headline, but that feels standard for rhetoric.

    Two things occur, first is the analogy to how rarely large organic brains have evolved primarily due to their calorific needs. Second if we ever want to kill AI we can just sever the water supply and let it melt.
