We had four years to come up with something, anything. By doing nothing, you’re as bad as he is.
Seriously. These guys literally handed the next election to the fascists by not doing anything. And their reactionary voters still think they should be the ones deciding how to proceed in the effort to stop fascism.
The only reason I’m rooting for the democrats is lack of other options. I have zero faith that they will prosecute Trump and his cronies like they should. I wish there was a better option but right now, democrats winning the midterms seems like the only option with a remote chance at improving things in the Untied States
I don’t see an outcome that will change anything if we keep the current two party system and we’re too stubborn to do anything about it.
The trouble is democracies naturally tend towards a two party system. If a new party comes along and people vote for them, they’re taking votes away from the party that most aligns with their values. Split votes between democrats and a new left wing party could lead to republicans winning. It would be ideal if a new party could get enough support to overtake both parties, but people are afraid to vote outside the two parties for the reason I’ve described. This is why it’s so hard for the NDP party in Canada to gain seats. A lot of people want to vote NDP but are afraid vote splitting will lead to conservatives winning
The question remains, what can we do to fix this?
We’re at the point where we have to bring out the pitch forks or accept the new regime. There is no sit down and hope it fixes itself. It won’t. The fact that people don’t see this frustrates the hell out of me.

What did they do in the four years they had power?
They had more time to prepare a case if you want to include any of the four years prior to their term.
Nothing. They said the “nation needs to move on and heal”. What needed to happen as quickly as possible was consequences and reform. Nether happened and it seems the democrats strategy was to wait until before elections and try to get at least one of the lawsuits to convict him. Except that the corrupt judicial system that republicans set up for this exact type of scenario over many decades of capture didn’t sentence him! And the cases were dismissed or swept under-the rug once he was elected. Thanks supreme(ly) corrupt court!
And hear me out: maybe, when all of the evidence is verifiable public record, they fucking shouldn’t
I explained to my aunt that Trump was convicted of crimes and the only reason he isn’t in prison is he won the election. She refused to believe me. In her defense, it is unbelievable. It is absurd, ridiculous, incomprehensible that it is possible to stay put of prison just because you won an election. Imagine getting surgery from someone who would be in prison for medical malpractice had he not been hired as a surgeon.
