I completely agree with this take. GenAI is a project based on eugenics and colonialism, designed to appropriate culture and extract wealth. The poor will of course be most disproportionally fucked by this gross system. The rich can essentially pay to avoid it entirely.

There is a long list of problems with AI and fuck everything about it, but to go to the old classics of saying it was based on eugenics and colonialism is just batshit insane.
Just to be really clear: AI was not “a project”, it’s just a bunch of companies making shitty services with trillions of dollars in investments because of some new discoveries in LLM’s in the early 2020s making something new possible and people jumped on it as the latest IT fad. It will probably cause an economic crash soon due to the ginormous bubble it created and amongst the many side effects, yes, it may make people poorer and definitely destroyed the little good that was left of the internet. It attracted a bunch of unsavory guys, like always, like peter Thiel, who indeed would love to see a whole circus of sick facsist bullshit come to life, but the guy is insane and not a founder of AI. Having said all that, AI has shit all to do with colonialism or eugenics, ffs, don’t even try going there.

Yeah, this take isn’t really exclusive to AI either, luxury products have always involved the best artists and artisans. Generative AI is just exposing the soullessness that has always existed but was masked by underpaid human artists.
Oh man. Pretty sure iPads in schools aren’t the problem here. I mean we’re not the Amish people… And while we have one ad for a luxury car brand, which is made by humans, we’re not at 99% AI yet. This might just be a coincidence since I’ve also seen plenty recent non-AI ads for denture fixative, shoes, eBay… I mean the real deal is to be so rich, you don’t get molested by TV ads anyways… I don’t think this is a very clever take on it. She’s right though and people should wake up because this is pushed on to people.
And to add a bit on this… After I’ve scrolled through the Epstein pictures, I’ve lost all faith in how money can buy taste. I think connecting artsy-ness with rich people is kind of a cliché.
Clever ad campaign, though. Many comments underneath the Youtube version talk about how this is human art in contrast to Coca Cola. Seems the marketing department did a good job. Just don’t make any effort and type in “porsche” and “ai” into Google or you might find how they’re not really hating on AI either. Any seems you can buy some nice Porsche NFTs… So yeah… Is this company exemplary in a positive way? Or does clever car marketing just work well on us and this Youtuber?

The people running tech companies are putting their kids in schools where the products they produce and push to the regular schools are explicitly absent from their schools.

Sure. We all should just make sure not to drink all of their kool aid. Public schools are a good thing, despite rich people sending their kids to private ones. Car companies will frame it like cars are the ultimate freedom. And they always do awesome things in nature with their vehicles. While in reality freedom for me in a city means working public transport… A collectively funded subway and train system and all kinds of things which get me to work avoiding the daily traffic jam… The image with driving an expensive car on a hill summit is their dream, but not on my bucket list… I’d rather buy an $8,000 mountain bike and get rid of my car in a perfect world. And technology isn’t a bad thing per se. I mean Porsche probably knows this because modern cars are packed with technology.
I don’t really do what rich people do. Nor what they tell me to do. I’ll just buy a refurbished Dell laptop for $300 and put Linux on the darn thing. I think that’s the right way to do it. Sometimes freedom and opportunity isn’t even expensive. Unfortunately per default my Linux comes without surveillance, big tech, cloud services, AI… It doesn’t turn me into a zombie… I just hope that some day the EU will realize school kids and other people need the same freedom and protection from Chromebooks or whatever breadcrumbs big tech has for us peasants. You’re certainly right. We all should be protected from predatory tech. Everyone needs to be able to receive good education.

Yeah. I know what y’all are trying to tell me. I’m just not so sure. Elon Musk certainly is a gooner and enjoys his AI waifus. Trump is kinda rich and he uses AI to put tariffs on penguins, does poop drop videos, pictures of himself… There are quite some silicon valley bros really invested in the thing themselves. Same thing happened with the hypes before. Sure I’ve heard the anecdotes as well how these people bar their own kids from using their products. I’m just not so sure if it’s more than an anecdote. I’ve read articles claiming this is a myth. And seems to me, at least some drug dealers do drugs themselves. Some maybe don’t. It’s also split in the general population. I mean I don’t need a rich role model to tell me not to do drugs in the first place. That was kind of my point.
Okay, but it’s worth paying attention when what rich tell you to do is different from what they actually do in their own lives.

Yes. I still somewhat have my hopes up. Maybe this is so much additional crap all at once that it’ll make some people wake up. I mean not all people are stupid and there’s quite some people in my vicinity who are sceptical about all this dystopian techno oligarchy. They’ll notice how it’s going to ruin their parts of the internet. Feels to me we should become a bit more active and make use of 2026. Idk. Maybe talk a bit about what art is and why humans do it. Why quality matters and they don’t always need the cheap crappy version of something… I’ve always made it my thing to be vocal about staying in control, get education, fight for freedom… I’ll keep on doing that. I’ll lecture people on AI as well and make sure I’ll contribute something. It’s not going to be easy and as you said: The near future is going to decide whether we still keep genuine things around. I’m super skeptical whether car companies are going to be my ally… But I always meet other people fighting for the same cause.
