We should make a rule that when reducing restrictions every member of Congress must interact with the potential hazard at the start of every shift, lunch, and before they can leave everyday for a year. If one of them refuses… Restrictions stay in place. Unfortunately the table saw safety standards never got approved, they were just proposed. Watching an 80 year old justify why a 65 year old chopped off their finger is fine would be interesting

Yeahhhh. Not going to be buying new furniture anytime soon. It’s the plastics in the foam cushions and that nasty particle board that it’s made of today… (there are many things you could do that are worse than getting old stuff made of natural materials for your home) It’s the biggest offender.

As I’ve been saying for quite a while - Since Bush Jr. was president - NEVER assume any man made item that is majority plastic or any “new and improved” chemical is safe.

Something that I haven’t seen for a long time, (as I haven’t had a TV in 20+ years) but I was always aware of, was that any time there was a threatened bit of legislation over plastics and their component chemicals, the American Plastics Council would put up print and TV ads with the tag line that “Plastics Make it Possible…”

The last one I saw was a print ad featuring the image of a sick baby in a hospital.

    Yes, indeed,

    Sublime.

Anything with plastic in it, including furniture, flooring, and the glue that holds together layers of plywood.
