Given then state of the missile remains, I presume it also failed to arm itself and / or failed to detonate. Got to hand it to the Russians: Their failures are, if nothing else, remarkably comprehensive.
It’s just the first stage that detached and fell through the roof, so the final state of the actual payload is unknown

This is only a booster part of the missile, not the whole missile. It is full of fuel, until the fuel is all spent. Then the part is dropped away so that it wouldn’t be unnecessary extra weight.
