Probably the biggest contributing factor is that the Democrats aren’t really anything to get excited about, like nobody’s going “YEAH! SOMEBODY TO GO PLAY DRAG ASS FOR 4 YEARS AND STILL GET OPPOSITION!” It’s just better than having some more blatant corporatist fuck actively make things worse, which is unfortunately where we’ve ended up.
