An ONT failure has me fiddling with my network this weekend and I might do this. Pihole is okay but having more power would be great.
I’m just this guy, you know? Except on Lemmy.
Thanks to /u/crank0271 for the name

Maybe the lower rates make individual crimes more prominent.

Now there’s a name I’ve not heard in many mooches

Yeah, it’s barely doing anything except shifting packets and doing DNS. Load is around 0.08 on a four core processor.

I got a spiffy little fanless micro PC with five Ethernet ports, installed Ubuntu, and wrote my own iptables rules and installed pihole.

You’re better than most, especially since a lot of them work at for profit insurers and don’t see a problem with it.
At least I won’t roll it searching an iPad for the climate controls

The pigs I’ve known personally nibbled on my pants, woke me up at the crack of dawn to be fed, and tasted delicious

And partly because they’ve got 24 hours to fill and not much actually happens in a given day.
And partly because really good journalism is slow, methodical, boring, and nerdy and it doesn’t sell ad space.
Fuck this world.

Remember when we thought the top one was the worst we’d ever get?
Good times….

I hate that politics is like fucking sports. Just dumb stats and predictions to fill airspace. And the best part is people who think they’re too smart for sports eat it up.

Imagine being a grown-ass man and thinking magic spells work through Tik Tok.
Everyone knows they only work on Instagram Reels.

I don’t disagree. Government is great at lame excuses.

“Jaymie finds an apartment”

Billing will be simpler because it’s one carrier, so a smaller billing department.
They’ll only need one building in each state instead of one for each insurance company, so fewer staff to manage those buildings.
And if you don’t believe me, there’s plenty of articles where lawmakers cite this as a reason they won’t just do it.

Not enough of them. There are redundant IT, legal, and HR departments, plus all of their marketing teams would no longer be necessary.
Even if half those people end up working for the government that’s still about a million folks who lost jobs.

Impeaching - which is just the accusation - requires a majority vote in the House. That’s doable this election but to remove him from office requires two thirds of the senate. To get that Democrats would have to win every senate election this year.
And even then some asshole like Fetterman could switch sides and derail the whole thing.
It really is a spectacularly bad system of government.

Don’t forget all the upper middle class voters who work at health insurers. If they lose their jobs they won’t be happy.
Running an ad blocker has been a matter of national and personal security for some time now.
