Yes
(real question) is there a non-carb grain? is there a grain that’s mostly protein? (a lot of keto stuff has pea protein…) (i’m almost certain there’s no FAT based grain 😭)
No, but there are grains that have a lower glycemic index than others. Lentils are an example of one with 9g protein and 12g net carbs per 100g
Farro ftw
For anyone else interested, here’s a more complete list
Popcorn
Oats. I eat oatmeal. Oat cereal. Oat milk. Oats in smoothies. I love oats.
Oat-tay-toes
100%
Rice. Goes with everything, can be made stovetop in ~20 mins and is fairly cheap.
I got myself a cheap rice cooker and I’ve never looked back. I have never in my life appreciated a purchase as much.
Dal is delicious and nutritious. Endless curry variations and great with both jeera rice or naan.
Can’t go wrong with lentils.
I love that rice and lentils dish
Corn is tempting and I really love oats, but gonna go with rice because I’m lazy and already have a rice farm.
Look at this guy with his own rice farm.
Rye FTW.
Also, lentils are beans, not grain.
Lentils are legumes. Legumes and beans are pulses. Lentils are not beans.
rye
Best in liquid form.
Makes a great stout, ale, and whiskey!
Trix obviously.
Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids.
Do split peas count? Because I love making a home-made split-pea soup. I know it’s technically a dried pea and not a grain…
It’s way cheaper if you buy the whole ones and split them yourself.

What’s the difference between a lentil and a chickpea?
I don’t know, what is the difference between a lentil and a chickpea?
(this was the setup for a joke, right?)Yes, and it’s so awful that I’m going to let someone else do the punchline.
Its supposed to be a garbanzo bean.
And then the joke goes like this:
Tap for spoiler
I’ve never paid $100 for some garbanzo on my face
Close, but your punchline needs to incorporate the full setup:
“What’s the difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean?”
“I’d never pay $100 to have a garbanzo bean on my face.”
Ahh. I have been out sleezed
I got joke autism sorry
I enthusiastically bought a load of quinoa to diversify my grain cabinet… anyone got some good (veggie) recipes?
Is soy a grain? Although for milk I go with Oat.
I think soy is a legume; typically not considered a grain; but OP included lentils which fall in the same category so I say go for it.
Soy and lentils are beans, also called “pulse crops” because of some antiquated agricultural terminology. Pulses.org can tell you all about the magical world of pulses!
