Eh, that’s why I plan to make a Lemmy community centered around basically food/water/energy self-sufficiency, to cockblock exploitation like this.

Once I rehabilitate myself first, and adopt that lifestyle myself fully.

Ngl, fighting thoughts of either escaping to a forest, or just straight up murdering people every day (when I’m not thinking of just offing myself somewhere away from eyes).

That may really backfire for them. I have seen Nepal, I have seen Luigi, and I have seen the whole Charlie Kirk thing.

Predictably 50% of them are irreverent, readers digest shit or super duper 'merica. This is the internet in 2025 not a print magazine for 1995.

If you are still unemployed., getting involved in mutual aid can actually be a great thing to do with your time. I started a Really Really Free Market during a tough time in my life and it has given me way more back than what I’ve invested into in terms of time energy and resources.

Starving people in Palestine run at Israeli tanks with salvaged explosives they built from Israeli bombs while wearing flipflops.

I find it really puts things in perspective when you look at real resistance in the real world.

That feel when you’re disabled and know it’s happening but can’t do anything about it. You try to find time to at least do something, but it feels like you’ve dumped one bucket of water out of a boat and in the time it took you to do that two buckets worth of water have leaked into the boat.

The ordering of the character chances in each row and it bothers me. In makes it hard to connect the struggles to the effects they have on their job choices and political stance. See for example the one with medical bills. I’d expect to be able to read a single column top to bottom. And for one of the two characters that doesn’t change their place from first row to second row, it makes no sense the young person with large student debt would work for no money. Swapping the first and second characters in the second row would make more sense.

This is just my pedantry. The point made in the graphic is very valid, I just found it a bit difficult to read.

Maybe get angry at those who put you in this situation rather than at those pointing out the situation?

Maybe you’re deflecting the blame so you don’t have to feel like you’re being an asshole?

P.S. Please do enlighten me. Who exactly are “those” who put me and everyone else in this situation? You trolls are such trash.

It’s definitely a beast with many heads.

Loosely, the people that extract wealth from the masses without lifting a finger, and hoarding said wealth, are likely the epicenter of it all. The neoliberal world order and capitalism isn’t the work of an individual or a single group, but there definitely are those that pull the strings - the very wealthy, their lackeys, the educational institutions they have shaped, and the governments that they have co-opted.

Some of the strings are fear, survival, comfort, sycophancy, greed, competition, polarization, feelings of superiority, and dominance. We are not only exploited through our labor, but also through our psyche and how our societies are structured.

The answer is to stop falling into negativity and to focus on solutions. Pointing the finger and playing the blame game has no winners.

ding ding ding! You hit the mark. You might enjoy The Age of Surveillance Capitalism if you haven’t read it already.

The new surveillance capitalist market is about human emotions and attention, not goods or services. At a certain point money is useless, and everything becomes about influence

So capitalists, i.e. the modern aristocracy, i.e. the aristocracy, i.e. the same damn bourgeoisie as throughout history.

Deflecting the blame? How is any of it my fault?

I understand the meme makes you angry. Rightfully so. But I am not your enemy in any way

Edit to answer yours: your government?? The oppressive systems and their history are plain to see, I’m not talking about the lizard people

Are you a rich company owner exploiting people for your own luxury? Or a crooked politician? Otherwise I don’t think this is shitting on you.

To say it clearly: The exploited person is not to blame. This image does not blame the tired worker. This image points out that the desperate worker is the victim.
