We’re introducing a simple reminder that appears as a SCOOBE screen (Second Chance Out of Box Experience) to let you know your Microsoft subscription needs attention (for example, if a renewal payment didn’t go through). In just a few clicks, you can review and update your payment method and keep your subscription benefits uninterrupted.

Linux users will be adding this to the mountain of evidence.
I moved my wife over to linux a few months ago and she was a bit hesitant but had been warming to it. Microsoft pushed some update to 365 recently that removed her offline installed versions of the apps and forced her into the cloud on her old windows laptop that she had been slowly weaning herself off of. The change was immediate. She was PISSED. Came to me the same day and explained what happened, didn’t like obsidian as a OneNote alternative so had me deploy BookStack on my self host rig. Now she is happy as a clam. ( her problems with obsidian were she hates Markdown and images are stored outside of the pages she puts them on which causes clutter)
Yeah that is kind of annoying how Obsidian does that… Because when you remove an image from a note it doesn’t actually remove the image. It just removes the markup that points to the image.
I’m looking at my Obsidian vault (in Dolphin) and it is—indeed—pointlessly cluttered, LOL.
Perhaps an extension can fix it… 🤔
LibreOffice is pretty good these days.
Some people will still say " oh, I don’t like how that one little detail is sightly different from how I’m used to with Microsoft Office. So I’ll stick to paying a fortune for a program suite that farms my data, makes saving my files locally on my computer instead of a cloud server more complicated on purpose and keeps trying to cram other unwanted features such as AI and ads down my throat"

“Please renew your subscription or return our hardware.”
More like renew or we brick your hardware return implies refund they just want to create more e-waste.
Great point.
